The chapter
What happens here
Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
Edom’s kings arrive one after another, each taking the place of the dead, until the last king dies and the chapter changes the furniture: no successor is named, only the chiefs of Edom.
From Adam to Abrahamvv. 1–27
The chapter begins with a single human thread—Adam, Seth, Enosh, and onward through Noah—then opens into three branches: Japheth, Ham, and Shem. Names multiply briskly, with Gomer’s sons, Javan’s sons, Cush’s sons, and the numerous peoples descended from Mizraim and Canaan. In the Shemite line, Eber receives a small piece of narrative amid the naming: one son is called Peleg because, in his days, the earth was divided. The list then narrows again through Arphaxad, Shelah, Eber, and the generations down to Abram, that is, Abraham.
Abraham’s crowded householdvv. 28–42
Abraham’s sons are Isaac and Ishmael, and the chapter gives Ishmael’s twelve sons in a long, orderly procession. Then comes Keturah, Abraham’s concubine, with six sons; Midian has five sons of his own, while Jokshan has Sheba and Dedan. Isaac’s sons are Esau and Israel. Esau’s line expands through Eliphaz and Reuel, and then the genealogy turns to Seir, whose descendants arrive in another dense family cluster. Timna appears once as the one by whom Amalek was born, and again as Lotan’s sister; the text places both notices on the page and leaves their relationship there.
The kings, and then the chiefsvv. 43–54
The final movement is almost a little royal conveyor belt. Bela son of Beor reigns in Edom, then Jobab, Husham, Hadad, Samlah, Shaul, Baal-hanan, and another Hadad, each entering when the previous ruler dies. Cities and regions are supplied along the way—Dinhabah, Bozrah, Avith, Masrekah, Rehoboth on the Euphrates, and Pau—so the succession comes with its own small map. But when the second Hadad dies, there is no ninth king waiting in the wings. Instead, the chapter ends with eleven chiefs of Edom, a royal list quietly giving way to a chiefly one.

Who else the chapter reaches
Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.
Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.
