The chapter
What happens here
Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
Anah finds hot springs while pasturing his father’s donkeys, and the genealogy, having listed chiefs and descendants, pauses to preserve this wonderfully practical little adventure.
Esau moves eastwardvv. 1–9
Esau is introduced as Edom, with his wives and sons named before the household becomes too large for the same country as Jacob. So he gathers the family, livestock, animals, and property acquired in Canaan, and settles in the area of Mount Seir. The reason is wonderfully unheroic: there simply is not enough pasture for both households’ livestock.
The family tree acquires hot springsvv. 10–30
The names multiply into sons, grandsons, chiefs, and divisions, as though the family tree has put on formal robes. Yet in the middle of it stands Anah, remembered not for a throne but for finding hot springs in the wilderness while pasturing Zibeon’s donkeys. The chapter does not explain the discovery further; it simply gives this small, steaming footnote its place among the chiefs of Seir. Korah also appears first among Oholibamah’s sons and later among the chiefs of Eliphaz, without an explanation of whether the name belongs to one person or two.
Kings before Israel’s kingsvv. 31–43
After the genealogies come the kings of Edom, one replacing another whenever death opens the throne: Bela, Jobab, Husham, Hadad, Samlah, Shaul, Baal-hanan, and then Hadad again. The first Hadad defeated Midian in the country of Moab; the later Hadad is given a city and a wife. The text gives no explanation for the repeated name, while the chiefs of Edom are finally listed according to their families and settlements.

Who else the chapter reaches
Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.
Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.
