Every verse links to the people and places named in it, and to the passages readers connect it with.

The chapter

What happens here

Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.

Jerusalem is measured for width and length, only to be announced as a city without walls—a splendidly inconvenient result for the man carrying the measuring line.

A city that outgrows its wallsvv. 1–5

Zechariah sees a man with a measuring line, who is off to determine Jerusalem’s dimensions. Then the angels arrange an elaborate little relay: one departs, another arrives, and the newcomer tells the first to run to the young man with news that makes the measurement seem rather beside the point. Jerusalem will have no walls, because men and livestock will overflow it; instead, the LORD will be its wall of fire and its glory within.

Messages, flight, and an unexplained sendervv. 6–9

The call goes out to flee the land of the north and escape from the Daughter of Babylon. The reason given is scattering like the four winds of heaven, while the nations that plundered are threatened with becoming plunder for their own servants. In the middle of it stands a peculiarly unexplained chain of command: His Glory has sent the speaker, but the chapter does not say who or what His Glory is.

A dwelling among the nationsvv. 10–13

The Daughter of Zion is told to shout for joy because the speaker is coming to dwell among her. Many nations will join themselves to the LORD and become His people, while the LORD takes Judah as His portion in the Holy Land and chooses Jerusalem again. The chapter ends not with another summons to movement but with all people told to be silent: the LORD has roused Himself from His holy dwelling.

Who else the chapter reaches

Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.

Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
