Every verse links to the people and places named in it, and to the passages readers connect it with.

The chapter

What happens here

Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.

The psalm gives its choirmaster an instruction called Alamoth, then leaves the word standing while mountains fall into seas and shields burn.

Alamoth, and the unshaken cityvv. 1–3

The song opens with its unexplained musical direction, then sets refuge and strength against an astonishing landscape: earth transformed, mountains toppled into the sea, waters roaring, and mountains quaking in the surge. The response is not fear, but its refusal.

The river and the raging nationsvv. 4–7

Against the disorder comes a river whose streams delight the city of God, where the Most High dwells. God is within the city, and morning is appointed as the hour of help; meanwhile nations rage, kingdoms crumble, and the earth melts at his voice. The refrain returns with a fortress built from the God of Jacob.

The end of the weaponsvv. 8–11

The scene turns outward: the works of the LORD include devastation, but also the ending of war. Bows break, spears shatter, and shields meet the fire—an impressively thorough retirement of military equipment. Then comes the command to be still, followed once more by the refrain.
