Every verse links to the people and places named in it, and to the passages readers connect it with.

The chapter

What happens here

Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.

The prophecy gives one endpoint as 1,290 days, then blesses the person who reaches 1,335, leaving forty-five days sitting quietly between the two.

Michael rises and the sleepers wakevv. 1–4

Michael, the great prince standing watch over Daniel’s people, rises in a time of distress without precedent. Everyone whose name is in the book is delivered; many sleeping in the dust awake, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt. The wise shine like heaven, and those who lead many to righteousness like stars. Daniel is told to shut and seal the words until the end, when many will roam and knowledge will increase.

The sealed answervv. 5–13

Daniel sees two figures beside the river, one on each bank, while the man dressed in linen stands above the waters. One asks how long the wonders will take; the man raises both hands towards heaven and swears that it will be for a time, times, and half a time, ending when the power of the holy people is shattered. Daniel hears but does not understand, and his request for the outcome receives a wonderfully sealed answer: the words are closed until the end. Then come the figures—1,290 days, followed by a blessing for whoever reaches 1,335—and Daniel is told to go on, rest, and rise to his inheritance.

Berean Standard Bible, public domain. Names the Hebrew and Greek put in the verse link to the person, place or people they name; the address beside each verse is a link to that verse, which is what a reader copies and shares.

  1. Dan 12:1“At that time Michael, the great prince who stands watch over your people, will rise up. There will be a time of distress, the likes of which will not have occurred from the beginning of nations until that time. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.

  2. Dan 12:2And many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, but others to shame and everlasting contempt.

  3. Dan 12:3Then the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever.

  4. Dan 12:4But you, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will roam to and fro, and knowledge will increase.”

  5. Dan 12:5Then I, Daniel, looked and saw two others standing there, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank.

  6. Dan 12:6One of them said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long until the fulfillment of these wonders?”

  7. Dan 12:7And the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by Him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, and times, and half a time. When the power of the holy people has finally been shattered, all these things will be completed.”

  8. Dan 12:8I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”

  9. Dan 12:9“Go on your way, Daniel,” he replied, “for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.

  10. Dan 12:10Many will be purified, made spotless, and refined, but the wicked will continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked will understand, but the wise will understand.

  11. Dan 12:11And from the time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation set up, there will be 1,290 days.

  12. Dan 12:12Blessed is he who waits and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.

  13. Dan 12:13But as for you, go on your way until the end. You will rest, and then you will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”

Who else the chapter reaches

Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.

Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
