What happens here
Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
Light and truth are summoned to lead a troubled speaker to God's holy mountain, while his own soul is asked why it is so downcast.
A plea for the road homevv. 1–4
The speaker asks God to vindicate him against an ungodly nation and deliver him from deceitful and unjust men. The same God who is called his refuge is asked why he has rejected him and left him walking in sorrow under the enemy's oppression. Then comes the lovely request for light and truth to lead him to the holy mountain and the place where God dwells, from which he will go to the altar with harp in hand, praising God as his greatest joy.
The soul is questionedv. 5
The prayer turns inward. The speaker asks his own soul why it is downcast and why unease is within it, then tells it to put its hope in God, promising that praise will yet return to the voice that calls God both Savior and God.
